Welcome to 3rd grade! I am so excited to have your child in my class, and I am looking forward to a great year! I know that in order for your child to be successful, we all need to work together to communicate. I will be communicating with you in different ways: notes sent home with your child, my wiki (it’s like a web page with classroom information), emails, and telephone calls. This year on my wiki, I will include all of my weekly information for you and your child to use. Please make sure that you check your child’s “homework folder” every night for homework and important notes. Homework will be on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Homework assignments will be written down by the students each day and requires a parent signature. In addition to homework there will be reading assignments as well as studying a spelling list and Bible memory verse (spelling and Bible tests are on Fridays) Your child may bring a water bottle with unflavored water in it. This can be used throughout the classroom day and during snack. Our classroom will have character traits that will be discussed and practiced throughout the year. At the end of the school year your child will receive a character trait title, which is what they exhibited throughout the year.
I think we have an awesome class that has good character. I don’t anticipate many problems, but I do want to have open communication with you and you with me should there be any issues. Please feel free to contact me.
